Econet and Netone mobile money services now allow cross transactions between Ecocash and Onewallet

Econet and NetOne have agreed to allow and support cross transaction between their mobile money services OneWallet and Ecocash. I do not have feedback on how friendly and easy the arrangement is for the users, but this I feel is worthy celebrating.

Mobile money has actually characterized more than 60% of all transaction in Zimbabwe, it has dominated buying and selling. So this move by both Econet and Netone is a positive move for all of us. I am not sure if there are any extra costs for the cross transaction services, but I personally think it is more convenient and also relatively cheaper compared to the previous hustle of trying to send money from Onewallet to Ecocash.

You might be questioning the relevance of this, as many argue that 90% of all mobile transaction is through Ecocash. Well, that is quiet true but this is progress. I personally think it also encourage people to use the Onewallet service as well.
